Supplement experiments

Antidepressant medications should never be used alone in the treatment of depression. Another tool in our toolbox is supplements. In my experience, these are not often recommended in doctor’s offices or hospitals. I have found certain supplements to be very helpful in boosting mood. Some work in a completely different way than how prescription medications work, but some do work similarly and it would not be a good idea to use both together. Supplements and natural products can have interactions with prescription medications and must be researched thoroughly before any tinkering is done.
